downloading scents?
There is a new cell phone in Japan that is allowing cell phone users to download scents. Not only can they download scents though, they can also send that scent to a base station that will release the scent into the air. I think this is an insane invention. I never would have thought that technology could go as far as sending a scent from one device to another. I think that the most insane part of this invention is that you can send it from anywhere to your base station. I'm sure there is a distance limit, but still, this is crazy!

Efolio
I am so glad that I did not procrastinate on this project. For the most part, I had all of my efolio done except for the scanning process for today. I think it would have taken me forever if I would have not worked on it from time to time throughout the time that we have had to work on it. There are a lot of things that I think I could definitely improve upon for the final efolio. For now though, I believe that this is a great foundation on which I can keep on building for my efolio I will use in the future.

Swimsuits breaking records
There is a new swimsuit called LZR Racer that Speedo has designed. This swimsuit is so effective that since it's release in February of this year, 18 out of 19 world records that were broken, were being broken while wearing the LZR Racer. According to Ryan Lochte, in an interview by the Associated Press, this suit is unlike any other before. Ryan says, "It basically helps you float and makes you feels like you are swimming downhill. On the downside though, there are a lot of people who are opposed to the suit. They do not believe that it is fair that some athletes will have the money for the suit. I think that it would be interesting to wear this suit, and see if it actually feels easier to swim. Maybe someday, it will be priced that the public can buy it.

A machine to make a burger
I just recently read online about a machine that students from Purdue University made that can concoct a burger. I think that it is very interesting that people are now starting to make machines that can do simple tasks, and sometimes more difficult tasks for people. I do think there are downsides though. What happens when people make up machines that do every job possible? Will people be out of jobs? Will we have to create new jobs so that people can have jobs to do? Sometimes, I think that living in such a technological world can have it's downsides. On the other hand though, it does make simple tasks much easier to accomplish.

Debit Cards
I feel as if debit cards are a great invention. I no longer have to carry cash around with me all the time. I used to forget to grab cash when I was leaving my house, and then I would have to worry about writing checks out, but now with debit cards I don't have to worry about that anymore. I even have the paypass on my debit card. I really haven't figured out how to use it yet. I know that you just hold it up to the machine, but whenever I do it, it doesn't seem to work so I have to swipe it anyways. Maybe one day it will work for me. Until then, I'm stuck swiping my card.

Cellphones in Cuba
Ordinary people of Cuba are finally able to get cell phones. Previously, only those who worked for the government or those who worked for foreign firms were allowed to own a cell phone. This is the first major restriction that Raul Castro has lifted since he has succeeded his brother. Although, Cubans are now allowed to own cell phones, they cannot really afford them. The average family income in Cuba is 408 Cuban pesos, which is equivalent to a little bit less than twenty American dollars. This is a huge step in lifting bans for Cubans though.

Computers can be a bad idea.
It's amazing how far we have come with our technology in the last couple of years. Now, when people are getting ready to count people for the census, they are running into a glitch. The people who go door-to-door to count people are having problems figuring out how to use their hand-held computers. According to CNN.com, this glitch could cost up to two billion dollars, and it can also possibly not make the census accurate. I sure hope for, us as the tax payers sake, that they figure out this glitch before 2010 when the next census will occur.
